WORKSHOP A: 9:00 – 12:00
Learning about gamification design and game mechanics
You already know how gamification can improve digital experiences in learning, consumer or employee engagement. However, the hardest part of implementation is in the experience design itself, often the chief reason why 80% of gamification will fail according to Gartner. Keith will introduce Gametize's approach and methodologies to creating authentic fun and engagement. He will also cover some case studies, including a B2E (Business to Employees) engagement with gamification of Standard Chartered Bank, as well as a marketing campaign for Diablo 3's launch last year.
Gamification vs Games, and the science behind both
Game Dynamics vs Game Mechanics
The 5D Framework - what needs to be established before implementation
10 most common mistakes in a gamification design/execution
Designing gamification using the GAMETISE model to focus on 4 key elements and 4 key goals
This half-day workshop will teach you the mechanisms of gamification, why it has such tremendous potential, and how to use it effectively.
Keith Ng, Co-founder, Gametize
Keith Ng is the CEO of Gametize, a gamification company that integrate game psychology into audience
engagement. He leads his team to “gametize” different aspects such as learning, employee
engagement, etc, in enterprises and institutions such as SingTel, Standard Chartered Bank, DBS,
NTU, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, focused mainly on mobile and Asia.
Keith has successfully raised venture capital (including from reality tv, Angel’s Gate), as well as
designed Gametize’s gamification framework/engagement methodologies. He is a prominent gamification speaker in the region and globally, such as in Gamification Summit San Francisco. Prior to founding Gametize 5 years ago, Keith sold his first software at 18, and later completed his BBM (Finance) and BSc (Information System) as a DFS Scholar in SMU, coupled with an exchange stint in Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium.
